Review: Too Faced Hangover Replenishing Face Primer

I won a Twitter giveaway recently, and the prize was a bottle of the Too Faced Hangover Replenishing Face Primer. I’ve followed Too Faced for years, but have never either had the need or the money to buy any of their products. So I was suitably excited to give this product a whirl. The primer cost £27.00 and is a generous size, and is a little different to other primers I’ve used.

Review: Glow Cult Cosmetics Unicorn Oil

Isn’t Pinterest amazing? I find most of my beauty products through it. It’s very easy to want something when you see how it looks on someone else. That’s the story with this product. When I saw a picture of a girl with perfect dutch braids and a gorgeous, shimmery, pink glow on her cheeks, I was desperate to copy her look. The fact that the product she attributed the glow was called ‘Unicorn Oil’ sold it. I clicked the link and added it to my cart before I even checked the brand!

My First Giveaway!

For my first giveaway, I decided to choose a product which combined value with high quality, and also offered more than one use. I ended up choosing the Makeup Revolution Iconic Smokey Eyeshadow Palette. I picked up one of these for myself too, so watch out for a full review and some tutorials before the giveaway is over! The prize itself is a selection of twelve eyeshadows, mostly with a shimmer texture but also some matte shadows, in colours of brown, green, cream, blue, grey and black. It’s not only the perfect way to create a vibrant smokey eye look, but also a fairly good dupe of Urban Decay’s NAKED Smokey palette.

Review: Maybelline Master Strobing Liquid and Master Strobing Stick

…the recommendation of the Master Strobing Liquid stuck with me, because it wasn’t the first time I’d heard it described as a ‘Must Have’. I’m on a highlighting craze right now; I literally cannot get enough highlighters. So When I found the Master Strobing Liquid and the Master Strobing Stick, both in the same two colour selection and costing less than £5, I bit the bullet and bought one of each.

April Birchbox: Unboxing and First Impressions

This months Birchbox is a collaboration with the London based brand Boden and is themed “The Bold and the Beautiful”. There was an option to upgrade and get a cute cardholder. Being a student and poor, I decided not to opt for this. This month I received 2 full sized products, and I was quite impressed with the selection. I was given 2 makeup products, 2 skincare products and 1 hair product. So far, so good!

February Favourites

Yes, I am a little late to the bandwagon on this one. Trying to fit in uni and blogging is such a hard life! But I am finally here with my favourite products from last month, and intend to show them in all of their glory! (That I can somehow portray through a phone camera and limited photography skills…)

Hairburst; first impressions

I’ve seen a lot of adverts for hair vitamins, but have avoided them for a while because I’m a biologist and therefore the idea of taking vitamins is a little silly. But I’m willing to try anything so in the end I googled them and found hairburst.
