December Favourites

I haven’t done a Favourites post since last February, when the blog was new and I was much less organised. It got zilch engagement, and I was less than enthused to do another one. Then again, I was new to blogging, and my photography wasn’t the best! So this year, I’m determined to give it another go.

As December draws to a close I’ve been hard pressed to find my favourite products. After all, Christmas brings a few new ones, and I’ve had hardly any money since October to buy anything leaving me with a surplus of products I’ve had barely any time to use and scraping around for ones I bought before the month began. Either way, I’ve managed to gather up what I’ve loved over the month of December, and having taken much better photographs than when I last tried this post, I’m ready to show you what I’ve been loving this month.

At The Body Shop Bloggers Event I went to, I picked up some of the Matte Clay Foundation, which has become my go to. It has a really great finish, matte, but makes it look natural rather than cakey and very obviously a foundation. It’s high coverage, and contains tea tree oil to treat any breakouts. My skin looks flawless when I wear it. It’s perfect! I’m never using anything else!

I wrote a review for these Bloomtown Lip Balms in November, but they have seriously saved my lips during December. They’re lightly fragranced, cruelty free, vegan, and free from palm oil. Read the full review here!

It took me months to incorporate a serum into my skincare routine, and the Drops of Light Serum from The Body Shop has really done wonders for my skin, especially during winter. It’s brightened it, added a boost of moisture, and really kept it in shape during the colder weather.

Onwards to palettes now, and although I’m yet to fully review them, I’ve finally gotten my hands on 2 naked palettes from Urban Decay – Naked 2 and Naked 3! I’ve pretty much been using Naked 2 everyday (check out a look I created here), and it’s definitely a firm favourite. I’ve yet to use Naked 3 yet, but I’m sure I’ll have a few looks to show you once I’ve brought myself to touch it…

Although I’ve really only used it once, I’ve been loving the Huda Beauty Desert Dusk palette. It’s pigmentation is insane, as are the various textures in the palette. The look I created, although I didn’t get a chance to take pictures of it, was bright and beautiful and I loved having it on. This is definitely my new go to party palette.

And finally, I’m digging back into the archives. When I first tried the Maybelline Master Strobing liquid, I wasn’t convinced. Just before Christmas I dug it out and found myself absolutely loving the glow. The iridescent shimmer is perfect for winter and it’s actually a very blinding glow! Ignore my previous words – this is an amazing highlighter! Just apply it with a brush rather than fingers and you’re good to go!

So there we are – my favourite products that I’ve been using during December. Some old products that I’ve rediscovered and plenty of new ones! Not included is my new Soft Box, which has made photo taking a breeze (even with a crying kitten outside of the bedroom door…).

What products have you been loving this month? Are you a fan of any of the products I’ve listed? Let me know in the comments!

It’s really good! And it lasts ages, even considering I accidentally dropped a load of mine down the sink…
