It’s going to be a great Christmas, I’m sure of it. But actually registering that Christmas is happening is a little more difficult because my Christmas routine is off. Even when I used to work Christmas day, I would still have lunch and presents with my family. This will be the first year I’m not woken up by my nephews at 7am so they can open their presents from Father Christmas in front of the whole family. Although Peggy wakes me up at 6.30am right now for a cuddle, so I guess it’s pretty much the same thing!
When describing it to my boyfriend as he worried about the fact I didn’t want to get out of bed again, I described it as not being happy but not being sad either, just having a bit of an internal “meh”. And really, I just wanted to quantify that today as an explanation. Because in all honesty it’s fine to have an internal “meh” period, so long as you don’t pack up and stay there!
The lovely Claire of The Pram Shed tagged me in the Christmas tag, and I thought it would fit in perfectly with today. The tag is so simple – Just answer the questions, tag a few friends and pass it on! It’s a lovely way to get in the festive mood!
I’ve already reviewed Christmas scents this season, both in candle and Lush Cosmetics form, and I’m here with another one. I already gave this one a small review in my The Body Shop Bloggers Event post, where I picked these up. But here is a full, more in depth review of the three products from the seasonal range I picked up.
It’s understandable that a mix of dropping temperatures, harsh cold breezes, central heating and less vitamin D wrecks havoc on your skin. Drying it out, making it paler and otherwise dulling your glow. But it’s not the end of the world – a few simple changes and you won’t have to ride out dull, tight and sore skin until spring.
I’ve written a few times about my disseration. When I first started trying to post about it weekly, it seemed like ages away that I’d be handing it in. But here we are; Christmas is fast approaching, and I’ve handed in a draft. I have a set of results, a lot of reading to do, and a lot of graphs to make. So as I gulp in anticipation of only having one term of uni left (I’m both terrified and SO DAMN READY!), I’m using today to reflect on everything a dissertation throws at you.
When I planned this post back in October, I didn’t think about it in great detail. At that point we’d dropped a deposit for Peggy, but she didn’t even have a name. We hadn’t considered what her response would be to us putting up a giant tree covered in glittering lights and baubles, although we had laughed at memes of cats staring at pretty lights and decreeing that they must, indeed, murder them!
I feel like I’m very late to the bandwagon on this one. When I went in to buy myself some Lush Christmas Products, I decided that I had to get Snow Fairy. I’d never tried it, but saw it every year and had even recommended it to people looking to get others gifts. So it made no sense that I hadn’t tried it yet!
Never mind the fact that I’ve been a blogger for a year – I finally caved on cyber Monday, when there was a convenient 30% discount on all Urban Decay Naked Palettes, and bought Naked 2. Naked 3 is on my wishlist for Christmas. And I couldn’t buy such a coveted palette and not put together a few makeup looks for it!
