Science and Beauty: Can We Really Have the Best of Both Worlds?

Because honestly, who the hell cares that I run a beauty blog whilst studying? I am a marine biologist at heart – it’s my first passion and my favourite thing in the world. I’ve put more effort into getting my degree than I have anything else in the world. Last week, I was stood in a freezing cold rock pool, digging around for periwinkles at 8am for a practical, and yes, I was wearing makeup. The only time I won’t wear makeup is when I’m diving, because what’s the point? If I want to be wearing makeup and have cat-eye flicks on my eyelids whilst I’m doing my degree or in any future career, and I want to write about it for a hobby, is that honestly a problem?… Read More Science and Beauty: Can We Really Have the Best of Both Worlds?

Review: KIKO Milano Unmeasurable Length Fibers Mascara

The makeup addicts I know will get it; every time you say “I’m not buying any more makeup until I get paid”, there’s a sale. In this case, it was KIKO Milano. When every mascara is on sale for £3.80, how can you not? They recently opened up a KIKO Milano in Aberdeen, so the brand had me curious. When I checked out their website and saw the sales, I grabbed a few bargains to tide me over. One of these was the Unmeasurable Length Fibers Mascara.… Read More Review: KIKO Milano Unmeasurable Length Fibers Mascara

Review: L’ORÉAL Infallible Blush Paint

A couple of weeks ago i did a review of the new L’ORÉAL Infallible 24 Hour Matte Foundation range, including the foundation, primer, colour correcting palette and seeing spray. I’ve been so impressed with all of these products; nothing covers up my dark circles like the orange concealer in the palette, and the foundation stays put all day, even without the setting spray!… Read More Review: L’ORÉAL Infallible Blush Paint

Browscapades – Getting to Grips with your Eyebrows

There used to be a point in life where I thought eyebrows were pointless. Born in the early 90’s, I can remember pretty clearly the days where razor thin eyebrows were the norm. When Cara Delevingne became cool, her eyebrows had me staring for hours in a what are thoooose?!?!? kind of way (which didn’t last long; Cara is the coolest!). Girls in school had thinly arched, pale blonde brows and that was cool. Being naturally brunette with jet black eyebrows, I never stood a chance.… Read More Browscapades – Getting to Grips with your Eyebrows

I’m on Bloglovin’

Follow my blog with Bloglovin March has been a great month for me so far in blogging terms; despite it being only my third month in the blogosphere, I have surpassed 300 views on my blog (small, I know, but it made me happy!), and got myself featured on the official Birchbox blog for my… Read More I’m on Bloglovin’

Review: Makeup Revolution Retro Luxe Matte Lip Kit

In case you hadn’t noticed, Makeup Revolution might be my favourite drug store brand right now. Sure, it doesn’t have the quality that more expensive brands have, but the quality to price ratio is amazing. I already reviewed one of their liquid lipstick products, which was fab for just £2. So I thought I’d try another! The Retro Luxe Matte Lip Kits were on my wish list for a while, so I bought one and gave it a try.… Read More Review: Makeup Revolution Retro Luxe Matte Lip Kit
