Review: NYX Lip Lingerie

When it comes to liquid lipsticks, a few brands seem to stand out above the rest in reviews. It might just be me, but NYX is one of those brands. Maybe it’s because of the high quality against good value, or maybe it’s because a few of the colours are close enough to be dupes of the Kylie Jenner liquid lipsticks. Either way, everyone knows about NYX liquid lipsticks. I’ve been meaning to try these for a while, but getting them was another story. Today I was browsing in Boots are realised that they actually have an NYX counter, because apparently I’m blind. No excuses then, and at £7 each I decided to buy three.

Get to know me tag

I’m really new to blogging, so trying to find my feet and gather a few followers has been fun so far. Having seen the get to know me tag floating around, I thought it would be fun to do. I used to love doing these things back in the days of Bebo, so it was nostalgic more than anything. So, here is my 25 get to know me questions and answers:

Review: Makeup Revolution Salvation Velvet Lip Lacquer

I’ve heard a lot of good things about Makeup Revolution as a brand recently, so picked up a few of their things today to give try. I’m also relatively new to liquid lipstick, despite my extensive collection of lip products. So today I picked up 2 liquid lipsticks from Makeup Revolution, and the Salvation Velvet Lip Lacquer is the first one I tried.

Today’s shopping haul

Today was the first day in 6 weeks I didn’t have deadline’s or extra reading looming over my shoulder. In dire need of a few things and having no commitments today, I decided a decent shop was in order! Here is what I bought!

Hairburst; first impressions

I’ve seen a lot of adverts for hair vitamins, but have avoided them for a while because I’m a biologist and therefore the idea of taking vitamins is a little silly. But I’m willing to try anything so in the end I googled them and found hairburst.

Review: Black Mask Cleanse

I’ve seen a lot of videos recently of people pulling off facemasks that look like black tar. Attached to the remnants of these peel off ‘miracle masks’ are little grey spikes, supposedly those pesky blackheads. I’m not afraid to admit I have a blackhead problem. I’m also a skeptic. But when one of these came up on Instagram I decided there was no harm in giving it a go.

Review: e.l.f cosmetics (new makeup haul)

e.l.f is a brand that’s had me curious for a while now, so I decided to get a haul of stuff when all of my basics ran out (by that I mean I ran out of foundation). There was also speak of a free gift if you spent over £25, so I was sucked in good and well by that point! e.l.f has come across to me as a luxury brand, so I was pleasantly surprised to find I could get not just a foundation, but also a primer, concealer and felt-tip style eyeliner (which I’ve needed for ages!) for just over £25. When combined with the free gift, the value for money was fantastic!
